One of my Czech associates, Silva and her son Jakub (aka Kubaman), posted some lovely Flickr photographs of their holiday baking:

According to the captions (thank you Google-Translate) these are Gingerbread

They are using a Traditional Central European set of cookie-cutters. How can I tell?

Carpmas Story For Jackie

Authors Note: Back in the late 1970s I was the Rowling/Larrson/Steele/Koontz of the elementary school playground (or at least as far as my friend Jacqueline was concerned) churning out best-non-selling “books” on a weekly basis. The misadventures of my anthropomorphised eggs – Eggy Peggy and Egg Head are legendary (in Jacqueline’s mind).

Jack has been begging for another story for years.

Just for you Jack – Merry Carpmas!

And now… breakfast.

Beyond brilliance! My brilliant friend, you have made my day (and don’t forget I am in mexico emoting perfect weather and delicious food and beach)… But THIS was the icing on my cake, the salsa on my totopo, the mayo on my potato salad. J’adore Carpmas!!! Merci, thank you, gracias and however-you-say-it-in-Czech…
    Happy, delighted me.

Darn spell check. Enjoying, not emoting. Emoting only joy at carp blogs.

I’m glad you enjoyed it, Jackie. During the photo shoot, one of my egg stand-ins did indeed commit an act of harakiri, leaping from the trunk to the floor. Publicity I didn’t want – but publicity that could get me headlines… when I need marketing for the book… you know… down the road.

    Hope you are enjoying Mexico!
