Countdown to Carpmas10

Saturday, December 9th, 2017

How is it possible that this is the tenth anniversary of Carpmas Project?!

And just in time too — as of this past Wednesday, evening I’ve broken into quite the anxiety-provoked rash.

There has been much fish-doodling to alleviate the itch.

For Carpmas 2017 I have chosen a format of four-by-four inch of heavy bond mounted on construction paper — extra bits I have left over from a course I taught years and years ago. Upon each of the papers, I have drawn carp. Each drawing will be accompanied by a poem or thought pertaining to the theme. In some cases the writing is done by me; in others it has been done by a bot.

Deciding which is which may or may not be difficult.

A warm-up for Carpmas 2011!

Just discovered that Carp Carol 2007 was not included in this collection (Carpmas pre-dates this blog):

Help with writing this upcoming year’s Carp Carol would be greatly appreciated!

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

We are less than a month away from Carpmas and taking submissions for this year’s Carpmas fun:

  • photos of your fishy baking
  • carp themed crafts
  • Carpmas drawings, paintings, sculpture
  • recipes for potato salad

We are also looking for the a new Poet Laureate of Carpmas and someone to write the Carpmas Carol.

I waited all year for Carpmas

Carpmas – a holiday with a long established 355… ummm… ……ahhhh… day  history.

Carpmas is about finding the joy in simple things.

It’s about friendship and family.

Being creative and embracing your Inner Quirk.

If it seems to make no sense at all, that’s okay.

It was never meant to in the first place.

Celebrate the Fish

You are SOOOOOO too early

It’s not Carpmas for another 2 weeks. What you need to do is this: return on the 13th of December – then I promise there will be something here besides… well, besides this drivel…
